After the Holiday Madness many of us may be doing some cleaning and organizing for the New Year. Alot of trash and wrappings, left-overs and replaced household items may start to filter out of our homes. Everyone should be thinking about what can be donated, composted, recycled, etc. For example, it felt especially good when I took the extra ten minutes to separate all the gift wrappings and all that annoying cardboard from toy packaging. The City of Providence is doing a great job of promoting recycling with the new bins. The larger old bin is now for recycling and the smaller new bin is for non-recycling. Most weeks our larger bin is full to the brim. That’s a really good feeling.
The following link is a Do’s and Don’ts article by the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation. I encourage our followers to look at their local recycling programs as well this holiday season.
