Westminster Street

If you have not spent anytime on Westminster Street in downcity you should take some time and stroll the street. There is a great vibe with restaurants and retail spilling into the sidewalks. The scale of the architecture makes the street pedestrian-centric with buildings at three to four stories. Street trees provide a pleasing micro-climate even on the warmest days. There are pedestrian scaled amenities including planters, light poles and trash receptacles. My only negative comment would be to thin down the elements of real estate and newspaper boxes to reduce the visual clutter. Following Foo Fest, the area was crowded with people and it made Providence feel alive, vital and vibrant on a Saturday afternoon.
